District Councillors for Attenborough Burgh & Haverscroft
Talia Taylor - County Council Candidate for Attleborough Division

I’m Taila, and I’ve been selected to stand in the upcoming county council election for the Attleborough Division.

I am an Attleborough resident myself, born and bred, and have always been extremely passionate about the town I call home, and it’s community, which I have been representing in local government for almost a decade now.

I joined Attleborough Town Council in 2015, at only 20 years old, and am currently serving as the towns youngest Mayor, and am proudly the third generation of my family to hold this prestigious position, following in the footsteps of my mother and grandfather. I was further elected to Breckland District Council in 2019, representing the Attleborough Burgh & Haverscroft Ward.

It was my family and their long-standing commitment to the town that first inspired me to stand for election and it continues to be my family that motivates me now, being driven by my love and admiration for my beautiful daughter Paisley. My ethos towards my role as a councillor, is very much a reflection of my aspirations as a mother, with the desire to build a community that is safe and inclusive, while working to instil values of kindness and selflessness, helping and supporting others to the best of our abilities.

My ambition at County level is very much the same as the other two tiers of government - to champion the needs of all residents and to secure the best outcomes for Attleborough and Besthorpe.

Should I be fortunate enough to be elected in May, my community would benefit from a strong, steadfast voice across all three tiers of local government, aligning communication, and working to see the towns aspirations listened to, and met, by each of the relevant authorities.

What are my priorities?

• To help in securing sufficient infrastructure alongside the development planned for Attleborough,

while ensuring that the current town centre is supported through the proposed growth.

• To improve the local offer for adults and children with special educational needs and disabilities - S E N D

• To work with partners, to mitigate as best we can, the risk of future flooding in Attleborough and Besthorpe

• To fight to ensure public money is spent wiser and more efficiently.
