TOFTWOOD RESIDENT STUART GREEN ELECTED TO BRECKLAND COUNCIL IN BY-ELECTION
Stuart Green has been elected to represent Dereham Toftwood on Breckland Council following the by-election held on 16 July. The long-time Toftwood resident thanked local voters for their support and pledged to be a visible, hardworking voice for the community.
Stuart, 33, lives in Toftwood with his wife and two children. Having grown up in the area and now raising his own family there, he said he is passionate about ensuring that local residents have strong representation and a councillor who understands the issues facing the community.
Speaking after the result, Stuart said: “I am honoured and delighted to have been elected to represent Dereham Toftwood on Breckland Council. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me and all those who supported my campaign. “As a local resident who grew up here and is now
raising a family here, I care deeply about our community and the future of our area. Residents deserve a councillor who is visible, approachable and focused on getting things done, and that is exactly what I intend to be. I was keen to get started straight away and attended the Dereham Health & Care Summit just hours after the result was announced.
I look forward to working closely with residents, community groups and local organisations to deliver real improvements and ensure Toftwood’s voice is heard at Breckland Council.”
A familiar face in the community, Stuart already serves on Dereham Town Council, chairs Dereham Litter Pickers, helps organise the annual Dereham Day celebrations and supports young people through the Scouts.
Stuart said his priorities as a councillor will be listening to residents, supporting local services, improving the local environment and ensuring Toftwood has a strong and effective voice on the District Council.
