I am really pleased to have been been re selected as the Conservative Candidate for the Elmham and Mattishall Division which covers your Parish.

I am very glad to get the opportunity to stand this May, having campaigned long and hard for the Elections to go ahead, after the

Government announced that they were going to be cancelled. I have always put the rural communities where I live and represent first, before Party or political pressure. I hope that my record of delivery shows that I have done just that.

I have campaigned against the establishment of an extra layer of Government with a Mayoral Combined Authority for Norfolk and Suffolk (which we will have to pay for!)

together with a new Mayor. I stepped down from the Cabinet at Norfolk County Council rather than support the Leader, so that I could speak out for my residents.

I work closely with your Parishes to deliver Parish Partnerships, Grants from the Norfolk Community Fund, fight huge unsuitable developments such as the New Town at

Bintree/North Elmham and the Truck Stop proposed for North Tuddenham.

Bill is the current County Councillor for the Elmham and Mattishall Division and he is delighted to be re-standing in May. Bill lives locally in the Division that he represents. Bill believe that it is his job to make sure that the County Council listens to our issues and takes account of them in it's decision making. Bill is very concerned about the Government's massively increased housing targets for our area and its' decision to encourage large Solar Installations (he can't call them farms!). He has also been fighting to improve rural transport and reduce the speed of traffic in our villages. Bill works with your Parish Council but is also available directly on bill.borrett@norfolkgov.uk if you have any queries.
